Although I started on Substack this year (it’s been fantastic mind you) I hadn’t realized how writing for social media this last decade had twisted my expectations. And stunted creativity.
Substack was different. It IS different.
Anyway… Substack made me curious about starting YouTube also.
Oh cool, another “Changed My Life” video 🤮
Despite whenever I see a video titled “I did xyz and it changed my life” I yack a little bit in my mouth — I got sucked into a few of these lately specifically about starting YouTube, and suddenly thought fuck it — I’ll write a draft script and delete it if it sucks.
Turns out there’s interesting stuff here.
If I had known this earlier I would have started my YouTube channel sooner.
My motivation for starting a YouTube channel was purely for business — but the side effects are surprising. And welcome.

Walking around Penang Malaysia
I don’t like renting a motorbike when I travel (outside of motorbike trips) because:
Not having a motorbike means I walk (those daily steps…)
Walking means I can sample all the local beers to my heart’s content
Embracing a walking pace rewards you with cool shit like this…
We are loving our time in Penang, have you been?
